Structural Details: Prestressed Concrete Spread-Box Girders with a poured-in-place composite concrete deck and bolted architectural hardwood guardrailing.

Project Details: In order to provide traffic access to a number of luxury homesites, Virginia Homes needed to cross a sensitive stream area with high sloping banks. We designed, fabricated, and constructed a simple spread-box beam bridge, and installed painted hardwood guardrail adding subtle appeal to the structure.

For this project, the driving considerations were "low-cost" and "inconspicuousness". Taking into account the customer's wishes for the appearance of the neighborhood, we constructed a low cost simple structure that is as understated as it is functional.
